Cliché: you can take that to the bank

Meaning: “that” is authentic or reliable. Use examples.
Rewrite 1: you could
swear testimony on it
Rewrite 2: it’s as
authentic as a dollar bill
Rewrite 3: it’s as trustworthy as a
nun under oath
Rewrite 4: you can trade that on the stock market

Comment: The difficulty in rewriting this suggests that the number of unquestionable institutions is limited.
